Results of the 4th Edition of “Rêver le Liban”under the theme “Let the Walls Speak"
Banque BEMO Announces the Results of the 4th Edition of the National Writing Competition “Rêver le Liban” held this year under the theme “Let the Walls Speak.” The event took place at the Bank’s headquarters in Beirut and was broadcast live on its Instagram page.
The announcement was held in the presence of Banque BEMO’s Chairman and General Manager Dr. Riad Obegi, initiator of the project, alongside the Bank’s team and its institutional and cultural partners.
Following the Lebanese national anthem, Ms. Tania Hchaime Noujaim opened the event, highlighting how the initiative continues to bring together students and institutions despite difficult circumstances.
In his address, Dr. Riad Obegi praised the determination of students from across Lebanon who continue to write, imagine, and dream of the country’s future. Partner representatives also shared remarks, including Ms. Sonia Khoury (Ministry of Education and Higher Education), Ms. Isabelle Picault (Institut Français du Liban), Ms. Amira Solh (Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO), Mr. Emile Tyan (Librairie Antoine), Ms. Maya Ghandour (L’Orient-Le Jour), and Mr. Antoine Boulad (Assabil), each reflecting on the role of culture, memory, and writing in shaping the next generation.
The event concluded with the announcement of the 18 winners and selected readings from the award-winning texts, before Ms. Nevine Toutounji Hage Chahine, President of “Rêver le Liban”, closed the ceremony by emphasizing the power of writing as a space for expression, belonging, and hope.
Through this initiative, Banque BEMO continues to reaffirm its commitment to education, culture, and the creative voice of Lebanese youth.
